The British auction house has a long history of trading, going back to the 18th century. It is famous for holding auctions of large quantities of fascinating and unique objects, and the most valuable artworks and collections. Christie's facilitates sellers reaching a global audience for their objects and finding buyers around the world looking for desirable artworks, ultimately achieving the highest price.  The aim was to establish a modern, scalable, and flexible website that will be able to host a large number of visitors during online auctions, live auctions and provide a platform to allow clients to explore lots and content.

Christie's auction house sells exclusive and often unique products and is counted among the best art and luxury businesses in the world. Therefore, connecting with ACTUM Digital, a leading brand in the digital field, was a sensible choice. In order to increase the visitor's engagement, ACTUM is in the process of completely redesigning Christie's website. Leveraging technologies such as Sitecore XP 9.3 with SXA, editors can now create the content more conveniently. Moreover, maintenance costs were reduced by migrating the website to Azure PaaS. Christie's switched to digital channels and vastly reduced the number of printed catalogues, at the same time enabling users with special needs to discover new works of art, as Christie's.com is compliant with WCAG and ADA standards.

The "My Account" section of Christie's website now provides consignment management more efficiently. The new performant application is fully independent of the legacy system, scalable, and highly available. Utilizing Amazon Web Services ACTUM has ensured the cost-effectiveness of the new solution while requiring minimal maintenance costs.

Enterprise Search

Fast and Accurate Search

Improving and simplifying the Enterprise Search Engine on Christie's website was performed in tight cooperation between Christie's and ACTUM while decreasing the operational costs. Migrating to SaaS and leveraging Amazon Web Services brings consistent, precise, and relevant results for the new Search Engine users.
