A few weeks ago, Salesforce, the leading CRM platform, introduced the eagerly awaited DevOps Center. Thus, it allows administrators to participate in the development of a new software programme or application, it is open to insights from marketing people and last but not least, for example, C-level managers who may want to prioritize some tasks over other things during development.
The fact that the DevOps Center supports branching and merging of code allows multiple developers to work simultaneously on the same source code. This leads to a wide range of possibilities when it comes to the development team: it can easily consist of the company’s own developers as well as freelancers, without risking collisions in the code base.
Smooth collaboration is possible because the DevOps Center allows for managing the source code in a version control system (such as Git), detecting conflicting changes from different developers and resolving them before they are merged into shared environment.
